At the end of last year, we noted a significant decrease in I.T. contractor rates.
Specifically, itjobswatch.com reported that they had monitored slippage of nearly 10% over the previous six months.
Yet there have been several reports throughout the I.T. industry that these economic uncertainties may actually help I.T. contract rates. The theory was that both permanent staff and contractors alike would be less willing to switch jobs, meaning employers needed to pay more to get people moving. (more…)

Having dealt with recruiting engineers for the FMCG market for over 15 years, this is a market that I am very passionate about. It is a high pressured environment and excellent engineering and production teams are essential to ensure the productivity levels required to ensure target delivery dates and times are adhered to.

‘Most of our clients are experiencing their best ever years’
The words credit crunch and recession seem to be a daily occurrence on the news nowadays, and it’s quite frightening actually when you think back to probably only a year ago when the term hadn’t even been invented.
One thinks ‘is this just the government’s way of talking us into a recession, or is actually real??’
The common opinion with our clients is that it is some form of scaremongering tactics and that actually business with most of them is more than good – in fact, some are enjoying their best ever years and have solid order books for the foreseeable future. (more…)
