2012 HTML5 IT job growth - market reports

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

2012 will see an interconnected web with HTML5, leading a range of diverse and exciting contract and permanent HTML5 job opportunities:

In 2012, HTML5 will be adding support for some really useful and cool APIs that allow one website to connect to another. excellent-hmtl5-jobs-in-london

For example, Zynga games on Facebook run inside of iframes. Using the new postMessage API these games will be able to communicate within the containing Facebook frame directly. Before HTML5, inter-window communication had to rely on a remote server - or use unreliable hacks.

Another exciting addition is CORS (Cross Origin Resource Sharing). This will make it much easier for different websites to share information with one another. For example, CORS will enable startups to create photo-editing services that download your photos from Facebook, let you modify them, and then re-upload them - again without having to resort to ugly hacks.

With all of the new semantic information available with HTML5, it will become much easier to create web tools that extract information from web pages. As a result, you can expect to see a plethora of new mashup services, as well as better browser modes (like readers and translators).

Exciting web browsing times ahead - watch this space!!!

If you are a web developer and you are keen to seek a new and exciting challenge, contact Jenrick IT on 01932 245 500 to find out more about the job opportunities currently available for HTML5.

2012 will see the continued demand for web developers, according to specialist recruiter Jenrick IT

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

The demand for web developers has exploded in Q4 as the war for talent web-designreally ‘hots up’ in the online and mobile apps space. HTML5 is tipped to be the big area for 2012, with tech ‘big wigs’ like Facebook, Google, Apple, Microsoft and Zynga all looking to expand.

This is one reason why Jenrick IT is devoting more resources towards HTML5 job opportunities.

HTML5 will allow websites to connect to one another using postMessage API allowing one frame to communicate within another frame (example: Zynga within Facebook) directly and not having to trely on remote server connection.

Something else to look for in 2012 will be CORS (Cross Origin Resource Sharing). This will make it easier for websites to share information within one another. In one example, Startups will now be able to create photo editing services that download your photos/images direct from your social media pages, let you modify them and re-post them. HTML5 will make it  much easier to extract information from web pages which will enhance services like readers and translators and geolocation, with browsers adopting a more iOS type UI.

Recent successful and unsuccessful hacking attempts to the IT systems of major global Companies and Government institutions have brought this new type of threat to the attention of the public and commercial sector.

GCHQ to offer British firms expertise in cybercrime

Monday, December 5th, 2011

Following on from other articles published by Jenrick IT, specialists in SC and DV IT job opportunities, regarding the increasing role cyber-crime will play within the technology sector, we have just seen this gchq-job-opportunities-for-sc-dv-professionalsarticle on The Guardian confirming that GCHQ will be offering assistance to British companies to help them combat cyber-crime:

Some of the secret technologies created at the government’s eavesdropping centre GCHQ are to be offered to private industry as part of cyber security strategy unveiled by ministers on Friday.

The plans could lead to the government being paid substantial sums for software developed by the intelligence agency at Cheltenham. Ministers argue GCHQ’s main priority will remain national security and the agency has insisted it will not be side-tracked.

However, the new cyber strategy makes clear that better co-operation is needed between the public and private sectors to face the dangers posed by espionage and crime on the web. (more…)

GCHQ spy recruitment code solved

Monday, December 5th, 2011

Following on from other articles published by Jenrick IT, specialists in SC and DV IT job opportunities, found this interesting article regarding a campaign thagchq-uses-game-to-recruit-new-talent1t GCHQ have created to test I.T. skills and attract the very best I.T. talent.

The code which GCHQ, the intelligence agency, posted online to recruit a new generation of tech-savvy spies has been solved within hours of going online.

The agency told The Daily Telegraph that “a number of people” had solved the seemingly baffling grid of numbers and letters by noon on Thursday.

The feat was performed by the select few well within the deadline of midnight on the night of Sunday 11 December.

GCHQ declined to say how many people had cracked it or how quickly it had been done but it is understood that every individual who solves the problem will be offered a fast-track path to a job.

To be eligible for a job with the secret agency, however, the code-cracker must be a British citizen.

GCHQ introduced the puzzle - which contains no reference to the agency - to try to find people with the right skills for espionage in the computer age.
