Increased Demand for Professional Contractors

Demand for professional contractors has continued to increase, together with the numbers of contractors who seem to be preferring the Limited Company course of contracting.

Philip Fanthom (Managing Director, Jenrick IT) commented:
“we have not seen this level of contract activity since 2007. Demand has been increasing month on month since October last year. In addition, we have noticed a sharp increase in rates for some skills, in particular; developers with C++, C#, and Java” (more…)

Early Day Motion’ from the Conservatives on AWD

APSCo are reporting that Conservative party members, including David Cameron have tabled a motion against the Agency Workers Directive (Temporary Workers Directive).

One suspects this could be a pre-election rally to the agencies and contracting community, but could be very good news should it lead to the demise of this directive. (more…)

Unemployment falls for third consecutive month

Jenrick IT’s great start to the year has been validated in the latest news from Westminster.

In the APSCo political monitor released Monday 22nd March, there is news to confirm that Unemployment figures have continued to fall for the third consecutive month. Hopefully these figures are correct and not merely pre-election ‘creative accounting’! (more…)
