The Evening Standard Newspaper recently interviewed a candidate of Jenrick Commercial, Joanne Streatfield, regarding her experience of using recruitment
agencies to assist with job hunting.
Here is the full article, which is very complimentary of the service provided by Jenrick Commercial:
CV or not CV?
If they haven’t read yours, rule them out says Joanne Streatfield, 27, from Surrey Surrey, who has used the services of recruitment agencies several times since she left college.
“Earlier this year I sent my CV to several online agencies,” she explains.
“Most called and asked me lots of irrelevant questions, so I could tell that they had not read my CV fully. Some were quite pushy and asked if I would go for interviews a long distance away the same afternoon, even though I’d said I wanted a job within a specific location.”
She ruled out using these agencies but went to see two others face-to-face.
“One did not seem very organised, or to know a lot about the CV I had sent. They kept me waiting in the office.
“The other, Jenrick Commercial, dealt with me as soon as I arrived and were the best I have ever dealt with.”
The agency found her temporary work for Sims Recycling Solutions in Middlesex, which specialises in recycling electrical and electronics items.
She has recently been taken on permanently.
Streatfield advises: “Ensure agencies have really read your CV when they call you and ask if they will give feedback about how you could improve it. If they continue to push you to go to interviews for unsuitable jobs, rule them out.”
